Our members include Fortune 500 companies, startups, tech-focused small and medium sized businesses, universities, research institutions, hospital systems, and more. 

The Role

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Events Coordinator to join our team. This is a part-time, hourly position requiring 10-20 hours per week, perfect for someone who is passionate about event planning and eager to contribute to Ohio's growing tech ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Event Planning & Execution: Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of large-scale conferences, smaller events, and virtual programming. Maintain detailed timelines and task lists to ensure all elements are on track.

  • Vendor Coordination: Work closely with vendors to secure venues, catering, AV services, and other event-related needs. Ensure that all logistical aspects of events run smoothly.

  • Sponsor & Speaker Communication + Relations: Serve as a point of contact for sponsors and speakers, ensuring their needs are met and that they are well-prepared for events. Coordinate materials, schedules, and any special requirements.

  • Value Delivery: Ensure that all events deliver maximum value to participants, sponsors, and speakers. Gather feedback and suggest improvements for future events.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the OhioX team to align event goals with the organization’s mission. Collaborate on marketing and promotional efforts for events.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in event coordination or a similar role.

  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Experience with vendor management.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Proficiency in event management software such as Eventbrite and databases within platforms such as Google Sheets or Excel

  • Passion for technology, innovation, and contributing to Ohio’s tech community.

Compensation

This is an hourly position, with competitive pay based on experience.
