OhioX is a growing statewide 501c6 nonprofit on a mission to build Ohio into a tech hub. We center our efforts around connecting, promoting, and advocating for Ohio’s tech and innovation economy. Our members include Fortune 500 companies, startups, tech-focused small and medium sized businesses, universities, research institutions, hospital systems, and more.
The Role
This role is ideal for an entrepreneurial revenue generator looking to help build and scale OhioX’s growing work. We’re a small team so we want to work with someone who is easy-going, but incredibly driven. You’ll be expected to take ownership of important tasks that deliver revenue, build and develop partnerships, and simply help us scale. Not just a sales role, you’ll develop deep relationships with OhioX members and sponsors.
We have a growing inventory of events, media products, and programs that offer statewide brand awareness and advertising opportunities to tech-focused businesses. You’ll be a point of contact for companies looking to reach a statewide audience.
Responsibilities
Overall
Work within a CRM or CRM software
Create and track benchmarks on sales performance
Prospect for new members, sponsors, and advertisers interested in joining OhioX as members and reaching our audience through events and media
Assist team with event and program production - with a focus on sponsors and funding partners
Lead and manage invoicing process
Membership
Prospect for, manage, and own full sales cycle for new members interested in joining OhioX (inbound and prospecting)
On-board new members to help set them up for immediate success
Lead membership renewal process
Be a point of contact and resource for our growing membership community
Maintain regular contact and communication with members through email updates, 1:1 calls, and in-person meetings to help deliver consistent value throughout annual membership
Events and Sponsorships
Manage and lead the full sales cycle for sponsors and advertisers (inbound and prospecting)
Attend, be hands-on, and assist with production of in-person events and programs with a focus on sponsor and vendor relationships
Develop sales proposals for advertising and sponsorship across a variety of products including newsletters, events, webinars, and podcasts
Create reporting for advertising campaigns and our events
Manage and help develop OhioX's annual sponsorship strategy, menu, fulfillment and sponsorship budget goals
Identify and develop new sponsorship and revenue opportunities
Attend and play an active role in organizing OhioX events across the state
Up to 10% of your role will require travel
Suggested experience
2+ years of B2B or media sales experience
Experience selling media products is considered a plus
Experience with sales CRM and tracking opportunities
Ability to own and deliver on full sales cycle
Motivated to succeed with an entrepreneurial mindset of getting things done
Interest/knowledge in Ohio tech and innovation
