What We Do:
EYEJ empowers young people to be advocates for change through YODJ: Youth Online Discussing Justice and its Youth Council. The EYEJ community includes 900 diverse adult members, donors, allies and organizations who engage with and learn about social justice issues through dialogue with over 1,600 young people and participation in programs such as EYEJ Speaks and town halls.
What’s a Trend You’re Seeing/Prediction for the Future:
More social and corporate responsibility for community development. Therefore, not just ticking a box, or doing so because corporations are demanded of it. This is an opportunity for positive social impact, innovation and a better economy. Further support for organizers, community gatherers such as OhioX or EYEJ, bridging people, organizations, tech together is not easy work, yet some of the most important work during this time period. Finally empowering and removing barriers, listening and having an open-mind to uplift entrepreneurs of color, women and youth. This ultimately will empower the larger community, create economic and societal positive development and opportunity. Hopeful for the removal of fear, hate and guilt to help empower all of us.

Why is Ohio is a great place to do business?
Ohio is a place of hunger, struggle, great intelligence and inner-strength. These are perfect qualities for natural entrepreneurs. Having come from the tech industry, directly helping Travelzoo Inc. and United Online get listed on the NYSC and NASDAQ, raising capital in Cleveland and managing over $50M in budgets, I’m beyond excited to see underserved youth be elevated, supported and guided to elevate their personal entrepreneurial dreams. Hoping that we can bridge our divides to better connect and work together to create real solutions, as there are so many incredible resources but connecting them is key.
