Youngstown Business Journal: OhioX, Youngstown Publishing Co., Partner on ‘Ohio Tech Report’
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — OhioX and the Youngstown Publishing Co. announce a partnership to deliver the weekly video series called the ‘Ohio Tech Report.’
The Ohio Tech Report is a video series dedicated to showcasing the companies and people developing Ohio’s technology sector and driving innovation across the state. The target audience for the ‘Ohio Tech Report’ includes business, civic, and public sector leaders focused on Ohio’s economic growth through technology and innovation.
The weekly video series publishes at 9 a.m. every Friday and is hosted by Chris Berry, president of OhioX, and Jeff Leo Herrmann, CEO of the Youngstown Publishing Co.
In seven minutes or less, the show will recap and analyze the week’s most important stories in Ohio’s technology and innovation sectors. The Ohio Tech Report will begin with distribution across the digital and social media platforms of OhioX and The Business Journal.
“Ohio technology and innovation is at an exciting moment,” Berry said. “The Ohio Tech Report will cover the top stories, people, and ideas from across the Buckeye State. Ohio’s future will be driven by technology and we hope the Ohio Tech Report will help make Ohioans smarter and more connected.
“As an outcome of the pandemic, there’s a renewed statewide pride in Ohio’s standing on the national stage. The OTR’s mission is to celebrate the successes and inspire investment in the tech sector. And also, to further build community and drive collaboration across the state.”
This series is also consistent with The Business Journal’s “Brain Gain Youngstown” advocacy platform focused on entrepreneurship and workforce development in Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
What makes the series unique is the perspectives and positions of the hosts. Both Berry and Herrmann are boomerangs who grew up in Ohio, left after college, and returned home. As the president of the OhioX nonprofit organization, Berry has a statewide perspective on leading tech and business issues facing our state and the national race to grow tech hubs outside of Silicon Valley. The organization’s membership includes Fortune 500 companies, startups, universities, hospitals systems, technology firms and more.
Herrmann had been an operator and also an investor in the technology and marketing analytics sectors for the past 20 years. Herrmann joined the OhioX board of advisers and will focus on the Workforce Development Committee, as well as support the development of corporate partnerships.
