Release: Three Innovative Startups Selected for OhioXcelerate Program
CINCINNATI, COLUMBUS, and CLEVELAND – OhioXcelerate, the premier virtual pitch mentorship program in Ohio, is excited to announce the selection of three promising startups for its inaugural cohort.
Beltways, Vitruvian, and Cocoon Technologies were chosen from a pool of highly competitive applicants for their innovative ideas, industry potential, and impressive team members.
Beltways, based in Cincinnati, is building the world’s fastest, safest, and smartest accelerating walkways to revolutionize last-mile transit and pedestrian mobility. Vitruvian, based in Columbus, is rethinking housing with its 3-D printed concrete homes, using sustainable construction and advanced technology. Cocoon Technologies, based in Cleveland, is transforming safety for the sake of the community through its innovative tech solutions that offer constructive dynamics as an interface for civilians and law enforcement officers.
“We are thrilled to welcome these exceptional startups to our OhioXcelerate,” said Chris Berry, President at OhioX. “It’s perfect that we have three startups, from three different parts of the state to kick off this new program.”
During the event, the startups will receive mentorship from experienced entrepreneurs and access to a network of industry experts. The event will culminate with the winner being awarded a prize package including memberships to OhioX, CO-Hatch, Alloy Growth Lab, and a $2500 service package from Ulmer Attorneys.
“We believe that these startups have the potential to disrupt their industries and make a significant impact in Ohio and beyond,” said Antony Seppi, VP at Alloy Growth Lab. “We are excited to see them grow and thrive in our program and beyond.”
OhioXcelerate is still accepting applications for mentors interested in supporting the growth of the three selected startups in the fields of transportation, last-mile transit, sustainable transportation, pedestrian mobility, smart controls, modular construction, 3D printing, construction technology, sustainable construction, architecture and design, justice tech, public safety, policing, civic tech, and social impact technology. If you have expertise in any of these areas, we encourage you to apply to become a mentor.
OhioXcelerate aims to achieve greater connectivity amongst innovation stakeholders throughout the state, bringing together startups, investors, and mentors. The program provides coaching and advisory services that deliver value to participating startups throughout their journey. By fostering a community that is directly engaged in startup and innovation success, OhioXcelerate hopes to drive innovation and economic growth across Ohio.
