Current City: Columbus, Ohio
Q: In three sentences or less, describe what your company does and your role.
OhioX is working to make Ohio a tech hub! My role is to assist with planning, organizing and executing the events put on by OhioX to further that mission.
Q: What's a day in the life for you like at OhioX?
A day in the life at OhioX as the Event Coordinator is all about keeping track of a lot of little details for each of our events - everything from confirming venue details, sponsor communications, volunteer coordination and everything in between. There's a lot of lists and emails involved to make sure each event (big, small, in-person and virtual) is a success!
Q: How did you get your start in tech?
I got my start in tech when I started working for a human services software company in their marketing department. I managed all of their tradeshows and events, figuring out the best ways to promote their software offerings to the audiences at each one.
Q: What's a trend in tech or innovation that doesn't get enough attention?
I think the continual innovation of tech in the workplace is incredibly interesting and is something we don't take much time to think about. There's so many ways that people are using tech in the workplace to augment their skills, free up time spent on admin tasks, get more personalized training and so much more has been such a big change even in the past 10 years. I'm really interested to see what innovations will continue to happen in that space.
Q: What's your favorite coffee shop in Ohio?
Believe it or not, I'm not a coffee drinker! Now ice cream, that's more my speed - you can usually find me at Little Ladies Soft Serve or Handel's!
Q: What's a fun fact about you that most people wouldn't know?
I love crafting! Artistic, creative projects are so much fun for me. I really enjoy figuring out how to recreate projects I've seen in other places, making Halloween costumes, hand painting signs and bullet journaling.
