What’s a Trend You’re Seeing/Prediction for the Future:

There will be more companies like Renter Mentor bringing up to date technologies like automation and artificial intelligence to improve the affordable housing industry's manual processes and to disrupt landlord-tenant performance. Big data and analytics will take the industry by storm in the next five years making technologies like blockchain more popular in the space for housing regulation and user data protection and privacy.

Simple technical innovations, as such, and diverse private-tech partnerships being formed will create more informed and high performing tenants, property owners and housing agencies.

A Problem/Challenge We Are Working To Solve:

The biggest problem we are working on is bringing more security and accountability to the housing market - the housing market is highly regulated but lacks enforcement, making the lowest-priority levels of income of the population more vulnerable to predatory landlords of the space, making them more subject to housing scams (stealing of application fees, security deposits, rent..etc), poor unsanitary living conditions, and slum lords. Housing agencies and federal subsidy programs that serve the low-income demographic lack technical infrastructure to make processes more efficient and accessible for all. 

Renter Mentor is at the forefront of bringing the innovation mindset to the affordable housing market in order to disrupt housing issues and use data and analytics to improve outcomes and processes for all.
