What We Do:
I started my consulting firm in 2020 after spending 25+ years in newsrooms all over the country as a broadcast journalist. I finished my career at WBNS 10TV as an early evening news anchor and host of a weekly public affairs show, Face The State.
TV networks and broadcasters, especially, are entrenched in messaging, PR, branding, community advocacy and crisis communications just about every minute of every day. TV networks are excellent ‘branders’, too, because they have inherent advantages like commercials, satellite dishes, cameras and microphones. However, I realized in the last decade especially, you don’t need the glare of cameras and lights to burnish brand. I help clients build their unique voices to reach audiences they need and want plus create and control the narrative they need and want.
What’s a Trend You’re Seeing/Prediction for the Future:
I’ll give you 3. Whether you’re a start-up or a Fortune 100, if you don’t have a plan for a crisis and a go-team inside and outside your organization to execute it, your future is vulnerable. Secondly, I consistently ask this question -- ‘Are you leaning into video and digital content to reach your audience?’ I ask not from my background as an Emmy winning content generator. (won’t lie though, it’s an influence) More so, I ask mainly because data answers the question itself. Google algorithms prioritize video over static content and will only continue to do so. Cisco predicts by 2022, 82% of all internet traffic will be video based. YouTube breaks records every year on video content. This is a wave that hasn’t begun to crest and its how organizations have to communicate. My third prediction involves another wave in community advocacy. From Boomers to Gen Z’ers, people want their employers, retailers, governments, non-profits – just about everyone - to take stands on issues. Your organization should too in impactful, authentic and strategic ways.
A Problem/Challenge We Are Working To Solve:
Small to medium organizations, especially, tend to think that quality media prowess, PR and video production are too expensive. My firm tackles that head-on with a value and experience proposition that’s unmatched. Yes, production houses still purchase cameras and lenses for tens of thousands of dollars and yes, they shoot beautiful pictures and video. But your organization doesn’t need that kind of equipment for striking video production. Let’s remember, a new Samsung smartphone shoots 8K video. Lady Gaga shot an entire video with an iPhone. It’s the entire ecosystem that matters: your story, your storytelling, your audience and your budget.
