Give Back Day 2026

Cities Across Ohio | Friday, August 7, 2026

Give Back Day 2026 is a coordinated, statewide day of service and volunteerism powered by OhioX. On Friday, August 7th, tech pros, founders, and teams will deploy simultaneously across the state to give back to our communities through community.

We are putting down our screens and closing our laptops to shift the collective power of our industry from the digital space to the physical world. Across the state, we’re showing up to support local non-profits and organizations.

Why We’re Doing This

Ohio tech is full of people who want to give back, but often the logistics get in the way.

We’ve designed Ohio Tech Serves to act as "CSR as a Service" for our entire community:

  • Startups: You're heads-down building your company—you don't have the internal team or time to organize a service day from scratch.

  • Small Businesses: You care deeply about your community, but maybe volunteer programs keep slipping down the to-do list.

  • Remote Workers: You miss the in-person, local connections that make a city truly feel like home.

  • Corporate Teams: You already do great community work—but usually in isolation from the rest of the tech ecosystem.

What to Expect

Give Back Day 2026 isn’t a fundraiser or a panel discussion. It isn’t a happy hour with a charity logo printed on the napkins. It’s sweat equity.

The Work

We’re partnering with local organizations for a half-day of real, hands-on work. What you’ll actually be doing depends on your location—it could be clearing trails, packing meals, or building beds for kids in need.

The Community

This is an ecosystem-wide effort, not an isolated company outing. You will be placed at project sites alongside other tech pros from across the regions. We believe through service we can build deeper, more authentic relationships across our state.

The Scale

Because this is our inaugural Give Back Day, our final map depends entirely on hitting critical mass. We need a solid baseline group to support a local hub. We are aiming big, but if only one or two people register in a specific city, we won't be able to logistically support a project site there this time around. (Remember, this is just the first ever event!)

Get Involved

Whether you are a solo remote worker looking to connect locally, a founder wanting to bring your entire startup crew, or an organization interested in anchoring a hub or sponsoring our statewide event t-shirts, we want to hear from you.
