Meet Mark Geyman

Pioneering Ohio's Digital Business Landscape

In our latest member spotlight series, we're featuring Mark Geyman, a tech entrepreneur who's been championing Ohio's business community through innovative digital solutions for over two decades.

The Professional Path

As the owner of ohiobiz LLC since 2001, Mark leads a specialized web hosting service that provides secure WordPress solutions for small businesses, organizations, and local governments across Ohio. His dual role includes managing the state's largest online business directory at ohiobiz.com, creating a digital hub that showcases and promotes Ohio's diverse business community.

"I spend my days ensuring our hosting platform remains secure and reliable while continuously expanding our business directory," Mark shares. "Working remotely since 2001, I've found the perfect balance between maintaining our technical infrastructure and growing Ohio's digital business presence."

From Cable TV to Digital Pioneer

Mark's journey into tech began in an unexpected place - the cable television industry. After graduating from Bowling Green State University in 1981 with a communications degree, he chose cable TV over traditional broadcasting, working with industry giants like Viacom and Cablevision Systems. "Managing a cutting-edge cable system in Mountain View, CA was a pivotal experience," he reflects. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to co-found Netforce Development, Inc. in 1995, where he combined business development with teaching Internet courses at Lakeland Community College.

Innovation Insights

When discussing overlooked trends in tech, Mark emphasizes the importance of digital inclusion. "There's a critical need to better educate underrepresented communities and businesses in remote areas about leveraging the digital economy," he explains. "Success stories in these communities often go untold, yet they're crucial for inspiring others to embrace technological transformation."

Beyond the Code

A native of Fostoria, Ohio now calling Rocky River home, Mark brings a unique passion to his work that extends beyond technology. "I'm actually an avid amateur meteorologist," he reveals with a smile. "As a kid, I used to chase stationary fronts on my bicycle - definitely earning my nerd credentials early!"

When he's not securing websites or expanding his business directory, you might find Mark at Erie Island Coffee on Detroit Road in Rocky River, perhaps tracking weather patterns or planning his next initiative to support Ohio's business community. As an active member of the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce and OhioX, his commitment to fostering local business connections extends well beyond the digital realm.
