The Professional Path

As Director of Risk Advisory Services at Pease Bell CPAs, Tim leads a specialized team focused on information security audits and compliance services. His department helps SaaS companies navigate complex certifications including SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, and GDPR compliance, with the ultimate goal of building trust and unlocking revenue opportunities in the tech industry.

"Each day brings a unique blend of client interactions and strategic planning," Tim shares. "From discussing compliance needs with clients to reviewing proposals and managing projects, we're constantly working to ensure that our services help tech companies meet their security and compliance goals effectively."

From Accounting to Tech Security

Tim's journey into tech began during his undergraduate years at Miami University, where he combined accounting studies with Information Systems & Analytics. "I took a natural interest in ISA courses while earning credits for my CPA exam," he reflects. "This combination led me to join a regional CPA firm's Risk Advisory Services department, where I started auditing SaaS providers and tech companies to ensure their data security."

Innovation Insights

When discussing underappreciated trends in tech, Tim highlights the emergence of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs). "These technologies, including differential privacy, homomorphic encryption, and federated learning, enable data processing and analysis without exposing sensitive information," he explains. "As privacy concerns grow, PETs are becoming crucial for maintaining trust while driving data-driven innovation."

Beyond the Code

A Chagrin Falls native who still calls the community home, Tim brings a local's perspective to his global compliance work.
