The Professional Path

As Managing Director of the Financial Services Sector at JobsOhio, Ron plays a pivotal role in expanding Ohio's business landscape, with a particular focus on fintech and insurtech companies. Working within Ohio's private, non-profit economic development corporation, he helps existing businesses grow while attracting new enterprises to the state.

"No two days feel the same," Ron shares. "I might be crafting thought leadership pieces, collaborating with our marketing team to showcase Ohio's robust financial services economy, or driving across the state to meet with companies. It's all about highlighting Ohio's potential and creating growth opportunities."

From Business to Tech Evolution

Ron's journey in tech took a unique path through the business sector. "I've been more on the business side of tech for nearly 15 years," he explains. "Rather than fully pivoting to tech, I focused on understanding how technological solutions can be applied to various business units, allowing me to evaluate and guide organizations through their evolution."

Innovation Insights

When discussing often-overlooked aspects of innovation, Ron emphasizes the fundamental importance of data quality. "Companies need to spend more time on the front end cleaning up their data," he notes. "It's not necessarily a trend, but it's crucial because innovation relies heavily on data. Only with clean, well-organized data can organizations successfully adopt new technologies and innovations."

Beyond the Code

An Ashville, Ohio native now calling Grove City home, Ron brings a local's understanding to his statewide development role. He also shares an unexpected piece of his past: "I used to be a mascot for my daughter's cheer team," he reveals with a smile, showing the personal side of this business development leader.
